Munchkins are cats SOMETIMES born with short legs. The original two females, that were used for the foundation of the breed, who had short legs, were discovered in the Southern United States. Munchkins are a natural mutation, not a man made breed. In the early days they thrived running loose on Boscobel Plantation. In 1990, a captive breeding program was initiated and "baby legs" kittens were on their way to becoming an established breed in The International Cat Association" The littermates below illustrate the two varieties of Munchkins. |

With my mother's encouragement (and prodding) I have decided to retire from breeding, as a full time job, and go to work outside of the home/cattery; I am not quitting altogether, I am going to try this as a hobby. I am going to work on Napoleons. I am downsizing my cattery to just a very few cats. I have many wonderful breeders and show cats available at significantly reduced prices. I encourage breeders from outside the USA to contact me as I have export experience and will sell to you cheaper due to your high costs of shipping. PS: This site is not leaving |
